WCC Tournament: Gaels, Zags Win, Set Up Final

The semifinal round of the West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament was played on Monday with both contests taking place at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, near Las Vegas.

In the opener, Joe Rahon scored 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting while Dane Pineau added 16 (while converting 8 of 10 from the field) as top-seeded Saint Mary's (#23 in the USA Today/Coaches poll; 27-4) defeated the fourth-seeded Pepperdine Waves (18-13) 81-66.

Lamond Murray, Jr. paced the boys from Malibu with 20 points.



In the nightcap, Kyle Wiltjer converted five three-pointer en route to a 29-point performance as the second-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (25-7) held off the #3-seeded BYU Cougars (23-10) 88-84.  Domantas Sabonis added 18 points to the Zags' coffers while grabbing 14 rebounds.

Nick Emery also converted five three-pointers while pacing the Cougars with 27 points.
