NCAA East: Hoosiers, Tar Heels Advance To Sweet Sixteen

The second round of the East Regional of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament commenced on Saturday with two games.

At Des Moines, Iowa:

Thomas Bryant scored 15 of his 19 points in the final eight minutes while Yogi Ferrell added 18 as the fifth-seeded Indiana Hoosiers (27-7) knocked off the fourth-seeded Kentucky Wildcats (27-9) 73-67, despite 27 points from the Cats' Tyler Ulis.

At Raleigh, North Carolina:

Brice Johnson scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels (30-6), with five players scoring in double figures, defeated foul-plagued Providence (24-11) 85-66.

Kris Dunn scored 29 points and Ben Bentil added 21 for the ninth-seeded Friars.
