Pac-12 Tournament: Ducks, Utes Advance To Final

The semifinal round of the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament took place with both games contested at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

In the opener, Elgin Cook scored 22 points as the top-seeded Oregon Ducks (#8 in the Associated Press poll, #9 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings; 27-6) recovered from a series of tactical blunders in the final seconds of regulation to pull out a 95-89 overtime victory over the fourth-seeded Arizona Wildcats (#15 AP, #14 Coaches; 25-8).

Gabe York paced the Wildcats with 21 points.

In the nightcap, Jakob Poeltl scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the second-seeded Utah Runnin' Utes (#12 in the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 26-7) held off the third-seeded California Golden Bears (#24 AP and Coaches; 23-10) 82-78 in overtime.

Tyrone Wallace paced the Bears with 26 points.

Top seeded Oregon and second-seeded Utah will play for the Pacific-12 Conference tournament title and the league's automatic NCAA tourney berth (though both are likely to qualify regardless) on Saturday night at 7:00 PM Pacific Standard Time.  The match will be shown on Fox Sports 1.
