NCAA Midwest: Cavs, Cyclones, Zags Advance To Sweet Sixteen

Three games were played in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Midwest Regional on Saturday.

At Raleigh, North Carolina:

In the lone Saturday Midwest Regional contest played at the PNC Arena, Malcolm Brogdon scored 22 points as the top-seeded Virginia Cavaliers (28-7) downed the ninth-seeded Butler Bulldogs (22-11) 77-69.

Andrew Chrabascz paced the Bulldogs with 25 points.

Two games were contested at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

In the opener, Georges Niang scored 28 points as the fourth-seeded Iowa State Cyclones (23-11) proved too much for Arkansas-Little Rock (30-5) 78-61.

Roger Woods paced the 12th-seeded Trojans with 19 points while grabbing ten rebounds.

In the nightcap, Eric McClellan scored 22 points while Domantas Sabonis added 19 (to go with his ten rebounds) as the eleventh-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (28-7) manhandled the third-seeded Utah Runnin' Utes (27-9) 82-59.
