At Reno, Nevada:
Both games of the semifinal round of the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Tournament were played on Friday at the Reno Events Center.
In the opener, Jeremy Senglin scored nine of his 31 points in overtime as the top-seeded Weber State Wildcats (25-8) held off the fifth-seeded North Dakota Fighting Hawks (17-15) 83-78, overcoming the Hawks' Quinton Hooker's career-high-tying 38 points.
In the nightcap, with Martin Bruenig scoring 22 points, the second-seeded Montana Grizzlies (21-10), who shot 71% from the field in the second half (65% for the game), defeated the third-seeded Idaho Vandals (21-12) 81-72. Walter Wright added 20 points to the Grizzlies' coffers.
Perrion Callandret scored 25 points to top the Vandals.
Weber State will take on Montana in Saturday's tournament final (with the Big Sky Conference's automatic NCAA Tournament berth at stake) at 5:45 PM Pacific Standard Time, to be televised by ESPNU.
