At Las Vegas:
Two games were played at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, near Las Vegas on Friday as the West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament commenced.
In the opener, Kruize Pinkins and Tim Derksen each scored 14 points as the eighth-seeded San Francisco Dons (14-17) held off the ninth-seeded Pacific Tigers (12-19) 62-58.
In the nightcap, the seventh-seeded Santa Clara Broncos (14-17) ran roughshod over the tenth-seeded Loyola Marymount Lions (8-23) 85-54. Jared Brownridge and Brandon Clark each scored 19 points to pace the Broncos. Evan Payne scored 16 of his 29 points for the Lions in the second half.
