NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Sweet Sixteen action continued with the South Regional semifinals on Friday with both games contested at NRG Stadium in Houston.
In the opener, an 18-point, nine-rebound performance from Przemek Karnowski propelled the second-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (35-2) into the Elite Eight for the first time since 1999 with their 74-62 victory over the UCLA Bruins (22-14).
In the nightcap, the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils (32-4) , with Justise Winslow scoring 21 points and grabbing ten rebounds, outlasted the fifth-seeded Utah Runnin' Utes (26-9) 63-57.
Duke and Gonzaga will battle in Houston on Sunday for the South Regional title and a berth in the Final Four.
