One game was played on Saturday in the East Region of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on the opening day of the third round of the tournament.
At Pittsburgh:
Trevor Lacey scored 17 points as the eighth-seeded North Carolina State Wolfpack (22-13) knocked out sloppy-shooting top-seeded Villanova (33-3) 71-68 to reach the Sweet Sixteen and made the Wildcats the first of the regional top seeds to bow out of the Tournament, despite 27 points from Nova's Darrun Hilliard II. The victory was NC State's first over a #1 seed since their classic championship-game victory over Houston in 1983.
