Big Sky Tournament: Eagles, Hornets (Who Defeat Vikings), Lumberjacks, Griz Advance To Semifinals

Four games were played on Thursday as the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Tournament commenced with all games played at the Dahlberg Arena in Missoula, Montana.

In the opening contest, Tyler Harvey scored a career-high 42 points as the second-seeded Eastern Washington Eagles (24-8) came back from a 41-38 halftime deficit and overcame the seventh-seeded Idaho Vandals (13-17) 91-83. Connor Hill paced Idaho with 23 points.

In the second match, the third-seeded Sacramento State Hornets (20-10) defeated the sixth-seeded Portland State Vikings (15-14) 70-60.  Mikh McKinney scored 24 points and Dylan Garrity added 22 for the Hornets, offsetting 26 points from the Vikings' Gary Winston.

Game #3:

Aaseem Dixon scored 16 points---12 of them on four three-pointers---as the fourth-seeded Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (19-13) bested the fifth-seeded Northern Colorado Bears (15-15) 63-57.

Game #4:

The top-seeded (and hosts) Montana Grizzlies (19-11) survived a scare from Weber State (13-17) as they defeated the eighth-seeded Wildcats 76-73 in overtime.  The Grizzlies' Martin Breunig scored four of his 24 points in the extra period.  He also grabbed 12 rebounds.  Jeremy Senglin paced the Wildcats with 25 points.
