NCAA Midwest: Coach Cal's Cats, Fighting Irish (In OT) Advance To Sweet Sixteen

Two games were played in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Midwest Region in third-round action on Saturday.


At Louisville, Kentucky:

Aaron Harrison scored 13 points while Trey Lyles added 11 to go with his 11 rebounds as the top overall-seeded Kentucky Wildcats are off to college basketball's first 36-0 start following their 64-51 victory over the #8-seeded Cincinnati Bearcats (23-11).

At Pittsburgh:

Steve Vasturia scored 20 points while Jerian Grant, who added 16, scored a pair on the game-clinching layup with 18 seconds remaining in overtime as Notre Dame (31-5) outdistanced the sixth-seeded Butler Bulldogs (23-11) 67-64, despite Roosevelt Jones' 23 points for the Bulldogs.  For the third-seeded Fighting Irish, it was their first win over their in-state rival in 26 years and it locked up their first Sweet-Sixteen appearance in 12 years.
