NCAA South: Duke, Aztecs, Hawkeyes, Zags Advance

Second-round play in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's South Region concluded with four games played on Friday.

At Charlotte, North Carolina:

Quinn Cook scored 22 points and Jahili Okafor added 21 as the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils (30-4) overpowered #16-seeded Robert Morris (20-15) 85-56 despite 23 points apiece from the Colonials' Marcquise Reed and Rodney Pryor.

J.J. O'Brien scored 18 points while Dwayne Polee II added 15 (on five three-pointers) as the eighth-seeded San Diego State Aztecs (27-8) defeated the ninth-seeded St. John's Red Storm (21-12) 76-64 despite 21 points and 10 rebounds from the Red Storm's Sir'Dominic Pointer.

At Seattle:

Aaron White scored 26 points as the seventh-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes (22-11) dominated the tenth-seeded Davidson Wildcats (24-8) 83-52.

Kyle Wiltjer scored 23 points as the second-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (33-2) defeated fifteenth-seeded North Dakota State (23-10) 86-76.  Dexter Werner came off the bench to pace the Bison with 22 points.
