Four games were played on Thursday as the Pacific-12 Conference Men's Basketball Tournament quarterfinal round took place, with all contests taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at Paradise, Nevada, near Las Vegas.
In the opening contest, Stanley Johnson scored 19 points while Brandon Ashley added 15 as the top-seeded Arizona Wildcats (#5 in the Associated Press poll, #6 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings; 29-3) defeated the eighth-seeded California Golden Bears (18-15) 73-51.
Game #2:
The fourth-seeded UCLA Bruins (20-12) ran roughshod over the #12-seeded Southern California Trojans (12-20) 96-70 as the Bruins' Isaac Hamilton hit seven three-point baskets en route to a 36-point performance. Katin Reinhardt paced the Trojans with 20 points.
Game #3:
Joseph Young scored 30 points while Elgin Cook added 20 as the second-seeded Oregon Ducks (24-8), with all five starters scoring in double figures, overcame a sluggish first-half performance and overtook the tenth-seeded Colorado Buffaloes (15-17) 93-85.
Game #4:
Delon Wright scored 20 points while Jordan Loveridge added 18 as the #3-seeded Utah Runnin' Utes (#17 in both the Associated Press and USA today/Coaches polls; 24-7) an 80-56 beat-down on the sixth-seeded Stanford Cardinal (19-13). Chasson Randle scored 22 points to pace the Cardinal.
