NCAA South: Bruins, Utes Advance To Sweet Sixteen

The third round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament commenced on Saturday with eight games, two of them in the South Region.

At Louisville, Kentucky:

Tony Parker scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Bryce Alford added 22 as the #11-seeded UCLA Bruins (22-13), with all five starters scoring in double-digits, became the first team to reach the Sweet Sixteen with a 92-75 win over #14-seeded Alabama-Birmingham (20-16).  Robert Brown topped the Blazers with 25 points.

At Portland, Oregon:

Brandon Taylor, one of six players who scored in double-figures, tallied 14 points as the #5-seeded Utah Runnin' Utes (26-8) defeated the #4-seeded Georgetown Hoyas (22-11) 75-64 and gained their first Sweet Sixteen appearance since 2005.
