Alvas Powell (20'), Diego Valeri (23'), and Fanendo Adi (74') each scored a goal on Saturday night as the Portland Timbers racked up their first Major League Soccer victory of the season by holding off visiting Minnesota United 3-2 in their home opener.
The Timbers will host New York City next Sunday at 3:00 PM Pacific Time (Fox Sports One).
