Samuel Emilus caught six passes for three touchdowns, including one with one minute remaining in regulation time as the Saskatchewan Roughriders opened defense of their Grey Cup championship with a 31-27 Canadian Football League home victory over the British Columbia Lions on Sunday.

Taylor Hall, Jackson Blake, and Nikolaj Ehlers (empty net) each scored a goal while goaltender Brandon Bussi saved all 22 shots for the shutout as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the homestanding Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in game six of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday, which the 'Canes won in six games for their first championship since 2006.  

Carolina captain Jordan Staal, who scored in five games of this series, was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner for Most Valuable Player in the playoffs. 

KNICKS COME BACK FROM DOUBLE-DIGIT DEFICIT TO CLAIM FIRST NBA TITLE SINCE 1973; JALEN BRUNSON NAMED SERIES MVP

At Frost Bank Center, San Antonio:  

Jalen Brunson, named the series Most Valuable Player, scored 45 points on Saturday as the New York Knicks came back from a double-digit deficit to defeat the homestanding San Antonio Spurs 94-90 to win their first NBA championship since 1973 and their third overall.

The Knickerbockers won the NBA Finals in six games.

Dylan Harper came off the bench to score 25 points to lead the Spurs, with Victor Wembanyama added 19, to go with 14 rebounds.

Stanley Cup Final: Hurricanes One Win Away From First Cup Since 2006

 At Lenovo Center, Raleigh, North Carolina:

Andriy Svechnikov scored two goals (one, an empty-netter) while Jordan Staal and Sebastian Aho each added a tally on Thursday as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the visiting Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 in game five of the Stanley Cup Final.

Pavel Dorofeyev scored both Vegas goals, one of them on the power play.

The Hurricanes, now up three games to two,  can lock up their first Stanley Cup championship since 2006 with a game-six victory at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on Sunday at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

NBA Finals: Knicks Stage Historic Comeback, Find Themselves One Win Again From First Title Since '73

 At Madison Square Garden, New York City:

OG Anunoby, who scored 33 points, scored the game-winning basket with 1.2 seconds remaining in regulation on Wednesday as the New York Knicks came back from a 29-point deficit to stun the visiting San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in game four of the NBA Finals. 

It was the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Jalen Brunson helped New York's cause with 36 points.

Victor Wembanyama paced the Spurs with 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Dylan Harper came off the bench to score 24.

The Knickerbockers, now up three games to one, can lock up their first NBA championship since 1973 by winning game five at San Antonio's Frost Bank Center on Saturday at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

Stanley Cup Final: Jordan Rules As Canes Square Series

 At T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada:

Jordan Staal scored twice (once on a power play) as the Carolina Hurricanes squared the Stanley Cup Final at two games apiece with a 5-3 road win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

Logan Stankoven, Jackson Blake, and Nikolaj Ehlers (empty net) provided the other Carolina goals.

Mark Stone, William Karlsson, and Brett Howden provided the Vegas goals.

The series will resume on Thursday night at Raleigh's Lenovo Center at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

NBA Finals: Spurs Steal Game Three From Knicks, Cut New York's Series Advantage To 2-1

 At Madison Square Garden, New York City:

In Monday's third game of the NBA Finals, Victor Wembanyama scored 32 points (with eight rebounds) while Stephon Castle added 23 as the San Antonio Spurs held off the homestanding New York Knicks 115-111 to cut New York's series advantage to two games to one.

Six Spurs, including all five starters, scored in double digits.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 32 points while OG Anunoby added 28.

The series will resume this coming Wednesday at Madison Square Garden at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

Golden Tempo Wins Belmont Stakes

At Saratoga Race Course, Saratoga Springs, New York: 

With Belmont Park still undergoing construction, Golden Tempo, with Jose Ortiz aboard and trained by Cherie DeVaux, the winner of the Kentucky Derby who skipped the Preakness Stakes, came out on top in the 158th Belmont Stakes

with Commandment finishing second and Renegade finishing third.

Stanley Cup Final: Double OT Goad Gives Vegas A 2-1 Series Lead Over Carolina

 At T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada:

Shea Theodore scored the winning goal at 5:38 of the second overtime period on Saturday as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the visiting Carolina Hurricanes 5-4 to take a two-games-to-one lead in the Stanley Cup Final.

Mitch Marner had a hand in the other four Vegas goals, scoring a natural hat trick and assisting on Tomas Hertl's power-play goal, all in the second period.

The Hurricanes came storming back in the third period with Jordan Martinook, Taylor Hall, Jordan Staal, and Andrei Svechnikov (power play) each tallying a goal.

The series will resume this coming Tuesday at the T-Mobile Arena at 5:00 PM on ABC.

NBA Finals: Knicks Top Spurs For 2-0 Series Advantage

 At Frost Bank Center, San Antonio:

In Friday's second game of the NBA Finals, Karl-Anthony Towns scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Mikel Bridges and Jalen Brunson added 20 apiece as the New York Knicks defeated the homestanding San Antonio Spurs 105-104 to take a two-games-to-none series advantage.

Victor Wembanyama paced the Spurs with 29 points (to go with his nine rebounds) while De'Aaron Fox added 20.

The series will shift to New York's Madison Square Garden for game three on Monday at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

Stanley Cup Final: OT Power Play Goal Squares Series For Canes

At Lenovo Center, Raleigh, North Carolina:

Seth Jarvis scored the game-winning power-play goal 3:56 into overtime on Thursday as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the visiting Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 to square the Stanley Cup Final at one game apiece.

 Logan Stankoven, Mark Jankowski, and Jordan Staal (power play) each scored a third-period goal for Carolina.  

Brett Howland scored twice and Mark Stone once (with 81 seconds remaining in regulation) scored for the Golden Knights.  

The series will now shift to the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada for game three on Saturday at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

NBA Finals: Knicks Come Back From Double-Digit Deficit To Top Spurs In Game One

 At Frost Bank Center, San Antonio:

Jalen Brunson scored 30 points while Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 (to go with 12 rebounds) as the New York Knicks came back from a double-digit deficit to knock off the homestanding San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in the opening game of the NBA Finals.

Victor Wembanyama paced San Antonio with 26 points while grabbing 12 rebounds.

The series will resume on Friday night in San Antonio at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC. 

Stanley Cup Final: Canes Blow Lead, Drop Opening Game To Golden Knights

At Lenovo Center, Raleigh, North Carolina: 

In Tuesday's opening game of the Stanley Cup Final, Tomas Hertl scored the winning goal with 3:24 remaining in regulation time as the visiting Vegas Golden Knights outlasted the Carolina Hurricanes 5-4. 

Shea Theodore, Ivan Barbashev, William Karlsson, and Brett Howden also scored for the Knights.  

Nikolaj Ehlers scored twice for the Canes while Jordan Staal and Shayne Gostibehere also tallied for the hosts.  

The Final will continue on Thursday night in Raleigh on ABC.
