The Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday hired Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori as their new head coach.  He replaces Tiago Spiller, who left last week for the Chicago  Bulls.

Tiago Splitter, who did an outstanding job this past season, leading the Portland Trail Blazers into the playoffs, is leaving to become the new head coach of the Chicago Bulls.

It appears that the slumping Portland Trail Blazers, playing recently like relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers from soccer's English Premier League, on a day that they traded two of their players, have axed head coach Nate McMillan.

Maurice Lucas, Enforcer On Blazers' Title Team, R. I. P.

Maurice Lucas, the bruising All-Star forward known as the Enforcer who helped led the Portland Trail Blazers in their lone National Basketball Association championship in 1977, passed away on Sunday night at his Portland, Oregon home from bladder cancer at age 58.
