" SONGS OF HAWAII " 1940s MUSICAL SOUNDIES w/ HAWAIIAN WAR CHANT & DR...


Here's a trio of musical shorts, starting with Lani McIntire and The Aloha Islanders with "Song of Old Hawaii; Napua Wood and "Wiggles"; then "The Hawaiian War Chant" starring Princess Momakai and The Hawaiian Ensemble.

All were produced in the 1940s.

Fats Domino - Rockin' Chair - February 1951


Here's Fats Domino with a song that he co-wrote, "Rockin' Chair," recorded in New Orleans In February,1951; it was released that September.

Released on Imperial #5145.  It was Fats' last record to released solely on 78 RPM.

Devils Knock Off Stars In Dallas

At Dallas:


On Saturday in the NHL, Nico Hischer and Pavel Sacha each scored a third-period goal ten seconds apart to help the New Jersey Devils snap a five-game losing skid by upending the hosts Dallas Stars 3-1. 


Nicolas Daws saved 27 of 28 shots for the victory. 

Giants Split First Two Games With Marlins

 At Oracle Field, San Francisco:


The San Francisco Giants opened their National League Western Division title defense on Friday as Austin Slater hit a walk-off double with two outs in the tenth inning to lift the hosts to a 6-5 home victory over the Miami Marlins.


On Saturday, however, Jesus Sanchez hit the tie-breaking single in the seventh inning as the Marlins came back to upend the Giants 2-1.

Timbers Hold Off Caps In Vancouver Cascade Cup Clash

At BC Place, Vancouver, British Columbia:


In their first Cascadia Cup clash of 2022, the Portland Timbers, with goals from Dairon Asprilla (PK-42'), Jaroslaw Niezgoda (60'), and Yimmi Chara (78'), held off the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-2 on the road in Major League Soccer action.


Cristian Dajome (76') and Ryan Gauld (PK-90'+6) delivered the Whitecaps' tallies.
