KNICKS COME BACK FROM DOUBLE-DIGIT DEFICIT TO CLAIM FIRST NBA TITLE SINCE 1973; JALEN BRUNSON NAMED SERIES MVP

At Frost Bank Center, San Antonio:  

Jalen Brunson, named the series Most Valuable Player, scored 45 points on Saturday as the New York Knicks came back from a double-digit deficit to defeat the homestanding San Antonio Spurs 94-90 to win their first NBA championship since 1973 and their third overall.

The Knickerbockers won the NBA Finals in six games.

Dylan Harper came off the bench to score 25 points to lead the Spurs, with Victor Wembanyama added 19, to go with 14 rebounds.

NBA Finals: Knicks Stage Historic Comeback, Find Themselves One Win Again From First Title Since '73

 At Madison Square Garden, New York City:

OG Anunoby, who scored 33 points, scored the game-winning basket with 1.2 seconds remaining in regulation on Wednesday as the New York Knicks came back from a 29-point deficit to stun the visiting San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in game four of the NBA Finals. 

It was the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Jalen Brunson helped New York's cause with 36 points.

Victor Wembanyama paced the Spurs with 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Dylan Harper came off the bench to score 24.

The Knickerbockers, now up three games to one, can lock up their first NBA championship since 1973 by winning game five at San Antonio's Frost Bank Center on Saturday at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

NBA Finals: Spurs Steal Game Three From Knicks, Cut New York's Series Advantage To 2-1

 At Madison Square Garden, New York City:

In Monday's third game of the NBA Finals, Victor Wembanyama scored 32 points (with eight rebounds) while Stephon Castle added 23 as the San Antonio Spurs held off the homestanding New York Knicks 115-111 to cut New York's series advantage to two games to one.

Six Spurs, including all five starters, scored in double digits.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 32 points while OG Anunoby added 28.

The series will resume this coming Wednesday at Madison Square Garden at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

NBA Finals: Knicks Top Spurs For 2-0 Series Advantage

 At Frost Bank Center, San Antonio:

In Friday's second game of the NBA Finals, Karl-Anthony Towns scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Mikel Bridges and Jalen Brunson added 20 apiece as the New York Knicks defeated the homestanding San Antonio Spurs 105-104 to take a two-games-to-none series advantage.

Victor Wembanyama paced the Spurs with 29 points (to go with his nine rebounds) while De'Aaron Fox added 20.

The series will shift to New York's Madison Square Garden for game three on Monday at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC.

NBA Finals: Knicks Come Back From Double-Digit Deficit To Top Spurs In Game One

Jalen Brunson scored 30 points while Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 (to go with 12 rebounds) as the New York Knicks came back from a double-digit deficit to knock off the homestanding San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in the opening game of the NBA Finals.

Victor Wembanyama paced San Antonio with 26 points while grabbing 12 rebounds.

The series will resume on Friday night in San Antonio at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on ABC. 

SPURS THUMP HEAT TO WIN FIFTH NBA TITLE (FIRST SINCE 2007); HAWHI LEONARD NAMED SERIES MVP

At San Antonio:

Kawhi Leonard (named series Most Valuable Player) scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds on Sunday night as the San Antonio Spurs overcame an early 16-point deficit and overwhelmed the visiting Miami Heat 104-87 to win game five of the NBA Finals and clinch their fifth league crown (their first since 2007) four games to one.  LeBron James scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Heat as their dream of a third straight NBA championship was doused.  Here are the happy Spurs with the Lawrence O'Brien Trophy.

NBA Finals: Spurs Dominate Heat In Miami, Open Up 3-1 Series Lead

At Miami:

Kawhi Leonard scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds on Thursday night as the San Antonio Spurs dominated the Miami Heat 107-86 on the road in game three of the NBA Finals. negating LeBron James' 28-point performance for the Heat.  The Spurs, who now lead the series three games to one, can wrap up their fifth NBA title (and first since 2007) with a game-five win back home in San Antonio on Sunday.  Tony Parker, pictured here, added 19 points to the Spurs' coffers.

NBA Finals: Spurs Smother Heat In Miami; Take Two-Games-To-One Series Lead

At Miami:

Kawhi Leonard (that's him here) scored 29 points as the San Antonio Spurs, who shot 75.8% from the field in the first half, coasted to a 111-92 road win over the Miami Heat in game three of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, taking a two-games-to-one series lead and reclaiming home-court advantage in the process.  LeBron James and Dwyane Wade each scored 22 points for the Heat.

NBA Finals: Spurs Overcome Heat (Both Miami And The Type Caused By Air Condition Failure) To Take Series Opener

At San Antonio:

In Thursday's opening game of the NBA Finals, Tim Duncan scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs went on a game-ending 31-9 run and overtook the visiting Miami Heat 110-95, despite air conditioning failure due to an electrical outage at the AT&T Center which resulted in temperatures reaching 90 degrees.  LeBron James, who paced the Heat with 25 points, suffered from cramps and did not play the final 3:59 of the contest.  Shown here is the Spurs' Tony Parker, who scored 19 points, with the ball.

HEAT TOP SPURS IN GAME SEVEN OF FINALS, WIN SECOND STRAIGHT NBA TITLE; LEBRON NAMED SERIES MVP

At Miami:

LeBron James (second from left in the photo), named series Most Valuable Player, scored 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on Thursday night as the Miami Heat won their second consecutive National Basketball Association championship with a 95-88 game-seven home win in the Finals over the San Antonio Spurs.  Dwyane Wade also had a double double (23 points, 10 rebounds) for the Heat, who won their third NBA title overall as the Spurs' bid for a fifth league crown was foiled.

NBA Finals: Heat Use Ray Allen 3-Pointer To Force OT, Top Spurs To Force Game Seven; Triple Double For LeBron

At Miami:

Ray Allen converted a three-point shot with 5.2 seconds remaining in regulation time (shown here) and forced overtime on Tuesday night as the Miami Heat came back from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit and defeated the visiting San Antonio Spurs 103-100 to square the NBA Finals at three games apiece.  LeBron James delivered a triple double (32 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds) for the Heat, offsetting the 30-point, 17-rebound performance from the Spurs' Tim Duncan.  The series---and the NBA championship---will be decided in Miami on Thursday.

Manu Ginobili (that's him here) scored 24 points and dished out 10 assists on Sunday night as the San Antonio Spurs won game five of the NBA Finals 114-104 over the visiting Miami Heat.  Tony Parker scored 26 to pace the Spurs while Danny Green added 24 and Tim Duncan 17 (to go with his 12 rebounds).  LeBron James and Dwyane Wade each had 25 points and Ray Allen came off the bench to score 21 for the Heat.  San Antonio, who leads the series three games to two, can wrap up their fifth league title with a game-six victory in Miami on Tuesday.

NBA Finals: Spurs Demolish Heat, Take 2-1 Series Lead

At San Antonio:

The San Antonio Spurs demolished the visiting Miami Heat 113-77 on Tuesday in game three of the NBA Finals, enabling the hosts to take a two-games-to-one lead. Danny Green, who scored 27 points, made seven of the Spurs' Finals single-game record 16 three-point baskets, while Gary Neal, who added 24, made six three-pointers of his own.  A dejected LeBron James, shown here, scored 15 points (and grabbed 11 rebounds) while Dwyane Wade paced Miami with 16.  The series will resume in San Antonio on Thursday night.

NBA Finals: Balanced Attack, 30-5 Second-Half Run Lift Heat To Series Equalizing Win Over Spurs

At Miami:

Mario Chalmers scored 19 points while LeBron James (that's him blocking a shot by San Antonio's Tiago Splitter) added 17 as the Miami Heat, with five players in double figures, used a 30-5 run in the third and fourth quarters on Sunday as they smashed open what had been a tight game and dominated the visiting San Antonio Spurs 103-84 in game two of the NBA Finals.  The series, now deadlocked at one game apiece, will continue in San Antonio on Tuesday.

Tim Duncan scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Tony Parker (that's him, here), who scored 21, hit a desperation jump shot with 5.2 seconds remaining as the San Antonio Spurs knocked off the Miami Heat 92-88 on Thursday in the opening contest of the NBA Finals, all in spite of LeBron James' triple double (18 points and rebounds, 10 assists).
