Stanley Cup Playoffs: Penguins, Golden Knights Grab Series Openers As Second Round Opens

The second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs opened on Thursday with two games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Washington:

Patric Hornqvist, Sidney Crosby, and Jake Guentzel (who assisted on the other goals) each scored a third-period goal as the Pittsburgh Penguins overcame a two-goal deficit to upend the Washington Capitals 3-2 on the road in the opening game of their conference semifinal series.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Las Vegas:

Alex Tuch, Colin Miller, and James Neal each scored a power-play goal while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 33 shots as the Vegas Golden Knights opened their first-ever conference semifinal series by massacring the visiting San Jose Sharks 7-0.
