Stanley Cup Playoffs: Penguins, Jets, Golden Knights Grab Series-Opening Home Wins On Opening Night

The National Hockey League's Stanley Cup Playoffs opened on Wednesday with three games.

All series throughout are best four of seven.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Pittsburgh:

Sidney Crosby produced a hat trick while Matt Murray saved all 24 shots as the Pittsburgh Penguins obliterated the visiting Philadelphia Flyers 7-0 in the opening game of their conference quarterfinal series.


WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Winnipeg, Manitoba:

Joe Morrow scored the winning goal in the third period as the Winnipeg Jets picked up their first-ever playoff game victory, 3-2 over the visiting Minnesota Wild in the opening contest of their first-round series.

At Las Vegas, Nevada:

Shea Theodore scored the game's only goal 3:23 into the first period while Marc-Andre Fleury saved all 30 shots in the Vegas Golden Knights' inaugural playoff game, a 1-0conference quarterfinal series-opening home victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
