Stanley Cup Playoffs: Lightning Close Out Devils; Caps Take 3-2 Series Lead Over Jackets; Leafs Knock Off Bruins To Force Game Six

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to continue on Saturday with three games, all in the Eastern Conference.

All starting times are Pacific.

At Tampa, Florida:

Nikita Kucherov scored the winning goal in the second period as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the visiting New Jersey Devils 3-1 in game five and won their conference quarterfinal series four games to one.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 26 of 27 shots for the Lightning.

At Washington:

Nicklas Backstrom scored his second goal----the game-winner at 11:53 of overtime as the Washington Capitals defeated the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2 in game five of their first-round series in which the Caps, who hold a three-games-to-two series lead, can close out with a game-six win in Columbus on Monday (4:30 PM Pacific Time, CNBC).

At Boston:

James van Riemsdyk's power-play goal proved to be the game winner as the Toronto Maple Leafs avoided elimination by knocking off the Boston Bruins 4-3 in game five of their conference quarterfinal series on the road.

The Bruins can still lock up the series with a game-six victory in Toronto on Monday (4:00 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).
