Stanley Cup Playoffs: Bruins, Sharks Win Game Sevens To Advance

Two opening-round Stanley Cup Playoff were contested on Tuesday with both games telecast over NBCSN.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Boston:

Joakim Nordstrom, Marcus Johansson, Sean Kuraly each scored once while Charlie Coyle and Patrice Bergeron each notched an empty netter as the Boston Bruins, with Tuukka Rask saving 32 of 33 shots, dominated the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs 5-1 in game seven of their conference quarterfinal series as the Bruins took the series four games to three, leaving no Canadian clubs left in this year's playoffs.

The Bruins will open their conference semifinal series with the Columbus Blue Jackets at home on Thursday night.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At San Jose, California:

Logan Couture scored twice while Tomas Hertl and Kevin Labanc each scored once, all during a single third-period power play, then Barclay Goodrow scored the game (and series) winner at 18:19 of overtime as the San Jose Sharks erased a 3-0 third period deficit and ultimately defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-4 in game seven of their opening-round series as the Sharks battled back from a three-games-to-one deficit to win the series four games to three.

San Jose will host the Colorado Rapids in the opening game of their conference semifinal series on Friday.
