NBA Playoffs Open With Saturday Series-Opening Wins For Nets, Magic, Warriors, Spurs

The National Basketball Association playoffs are set to open on Saturday with four games; all tip-off times are Pacific.

All series are best four-of-seven.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Philadelphia:

In the opening contest of their conference quarterfinal series, D'Angelo Russell Caris Levert each scored 23 points as the Brooklyn Nets, with six players scoring in double figures, seized home-court advantage in their conference quarterfinal series by upending the Philadelphia 76ers 111-102 on the road in game one.

Jimmy Butler topped the 76ers with 36 points while Joel Embiid added 22 (while grabbing nine and 15 rebounds respectively).

At Toronto:

D.J. Augustin scored 25 points (three of them on the game-winning bucket with 3.5 seconds remaining) as the Orlando Magic, with seven players scoring in double figures,  knocked off the Toronto Raptors 104-101 on the road in the opening game of their opening-round series in their first playoff contest since 2012.

Kawhi Leonard scored 25 points while Pascal Siakam added 24 (to go with his nine rebounds) to pace the Raptors.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Oakland, California:

Stephen Curry scored 38 points (making eight three-pointers to become the NBA's all-time playoff leader in that catagory) and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors defeated the visiting Los Angeles Clippers 121-104 in game one of their conference quarterfinal series.

Before he was ejected in the fourth quarter, Kevin Durant added 24 points to the Warriors' coffers.

Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams (who dished out nine rebounds) scored 26 and 25 points respectively to top the Clippers.

At Denver:

Demar DeRozan scored 18 points as the San Antonio Spurs knocked off the Denver Nuggets 101-96 on the road in the opening contest of their first-round series.

Gary Harris led the Nuggets with 20 points.
