Stanley Cup Playoffs: Bruins, Sharks Force Game Sevens

Two games were contested in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:


At Toronto:

Brad Marchand scored twice (one goal came on the power play, the other being an empty-netter) as the Boston Bruins defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 in game six of their conference quarterfinal series, now leveled at three games apiece.

The series will be decided in Boston on Tuesday night, with the winner to face the Columbus Blue Jackets in the conference semifinals.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Las Vegas, Nevada:

In the longest game of the playoffs thus far, Tomas Hertl scored the winning shorthanded goal at 11:17 of the second overtime period while Martin Jones saved a career-high 58 (of 59) shots as the San Jose Sharks upended the Vegas Golden Knights 2-1 on the road in game six of their opening-round series.

The series, now deadlocked at three games apiece, will be decided in San Jose on Tuesday.

The winner will face the Colorado Avalanche in the conference semifinals.
