The second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs commenced on Thursday with two games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Boston:

Charlie Coyle scored the game-tying goal in the third period to force overtime, 5:15 into which he scored the game winner as the Boston Bruins knocked off the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2 in the opening contest of their conference semifinal series.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At St. Louis:

Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice (once on the power play) as the St. Louis Blues held off the visiting Dallas Stars 3-2 in game one of their conference semifinal series.
