Stanley Cup Playoffs: Stars Knock Out Preds In OT, Get Blues Next; Hurricanes Top Caps To Force Game Seven

Two games were contested in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Monday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Raleigh, North Carolina:

Warren Foegele, Teuvo Teravainen, Jordan Staal, Justin Williams, and Dougie Hamilton (empty net) each scored once as the Carolina Hurricanes overpowered the visiting Washington Capitals 5-2 in game six of their conference quarterfinal series, now squared at three games apiece.

The series is set to be decided in Washington on Wednesday.


WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Dallas:

John Klingberg scored the winning goal at 17:02 of overtime while Ben Bishop saved 47 of 48 shots as the Dallas Stars defeated the visiting Nashville Predators 2-1 in game six of their opening-round series, which the Stars won four games to two.

The Stars will take on the St. Louis Blues in a conference semifinal series.
