Stanley Cup Playoffs: Maple Leafs, Predators, Avalanche Take 2-1 Series Leads; Hurricanes Blow Out Caps For First Win In Their Series

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Monday with four games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Boston:

Auston Matthews and Andreas Johnsson each scored a power-play goal as the Toronto Maple Leafs knocked off the Boston Bruins 3-2 on the road in game three of their conference quarterfinal series to take a two-games-to-one series lead.

At Raleigh, North Carolina:

Warren Foegele scored twice while Dougie Hamilton added a pair of power-play tallies as the Carolina Hurricanes, in their first home playoff game in ten years, demolished the visiting Washington Capitals 5-0 in game three of their opening-round series, which the Caps still lead two games to one.

Petr Mrazek stopped all 18 shots for the shutout.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Dallas:

Mikael Granlund scored the winning goal in the third period as the Nashville Predators reclaimed home-ice advantage in their conference quarterfinal series, which they now lead two games to one after their 3-2 game-three road win at the Dallas Stars' expense.

At Denver:

Nathan MacKinnon scored a pair of power-play goals in the first period as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the visiting Calgary Flames 6-2 in the third game of their opening-round series to take a two-games-to-one series lead.
