NCAA South: Ramblers, K-State Advance To Regional Final

The regional semifinal phase of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament commenced on Thursday with four games, two of them in the South Regional, with both games contested at the Philips Arena in Atlanta.


Game #1:


Marques Townes scored 18 points as the eleventh-seeded Loyola-Chicago Ramblers (31-5) held off the seventh-seeded Nevada Wolf Pack (29-8) 69-68.


Caleb Martin paced UNR with 21 points.






Game #2:


In a battle of the Wildcats, Xavier Sneed scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds as ninth-seeded Kansas State (25-11) knocked off fifth-seeded Kentucky (26-11) 61-58.


P.J. Washington topped UK with 18 points while grabbing 15 rebounds.






Loyola-Chicago and Kansas State will take on each other this coming Saturday (3:09 PM Pacific Time, TBS) in the South Regional Final with a berth in the Final Four up for grabs.
