In what turned out to be a mismatch of Tigers, Gabe DeVoe scored 22 points as fifth-seeded Clemson (25-9) smothered fourth-seeded Auburn (26-8) 84-53.
At Detroit (Little Caesar's Arena):
Tyus Battle scored 17 points as the 11th-seeded Syracuse Orangemen (23-13) knocked off the third-seeded Michigan State Spartans (30-5) 55-53.
