NCAA West: Zags, Wolverines Punch Tickets For Sweet Sixteen

Two Saturday games are set to open the quarterfinal round of the West Regional of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

At Boise, Idaho (Taco Bell Arena):

Zach Novell scored 28 points and Rui Hachiruma came off the bench to add 25 as the fourth-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (32-4) downed the fifth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (25-9) 90-84.

Keita Bates-Diop led the Bucks with 28 points. 

At Wichita, Kansas (Intrust Bank Arena):

Jordan Poole scored three of his eight points on the winning basket as time expire to lift the third-seeded Michigan Wolverines (30-7) to a thrilling 63-62 win over the sixth-seeded Houston Cougars (27-8) in a contest in which neither team led by more than six points throughout.

Muhammadali Abdur-Rahkman and Moritz Wagner each scored 12 points to pace the Wolverines.

Rob Gray topped the Cougars with 23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.
