16 games were on tap for Thursday as the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament opened its' Round of 64, with four games contested in the Midwest Regional.
At Pittsburgh (PPG Paints Arena):
Game #1
E.C. Matthews scored 16 points while Fatts Russell came off the bench to add 15 (making three three-pointers in the process) as the #7-seeded Rhode Island Rams (26-7) defeated tenth-seeded Oklahoma (18-14) 83-78 in overtime.
Trae Young topped the Sooners with 28 points.
In the second game, second-seeded Duke (27-7) outdistanced #15-seeded Iona (20-14) 89-67.
Marvin Bagley topped the Blue Devils with 22 points.
Roland Griffin paced the Gaels with 21 points of his own.
At Wichita, Kansas (Intrust Bank Arena):
Devonte` Graham scored 29 points as the top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks (28-7) proved too much for the 16th-seeded Pennsylvania Quakers (24-9) 76-60 in the opening game.
In the second contest, Khadeen Carrington scored 26 points as the eighth-seeded Seton Hall Pirates (21-11) held off the ninth-seeded North Carolina Wolfpack (21-11) 94-83.
Al Freeman topped NC State with 36 points.
