NBA Playoffs: Pacers, Thunder Reach Conference Finals

The second round of the NBA Playoffs concluded with two games on Thursday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Washington:

David West scored 29 points as the Indiana Pacers finished off the Washington Wizards with a 93-80 game-six road victory.  The Pacers, who won their conference semifinal series four games to two, will host the two-time defending NBA champions Miami Heat in the opening game of the Eastern Conference finals on Sunday at Indianapolis.  This will be a rematch of last year's conference finals, which the Heat won in seven games en route to their second straight (and third overall) NBA title.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Los Angeles:

Kevin Durant scored 39 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while Russell Westbrook added 16 points to go with his 12 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder came back from a 16-point deficit and overtook the Los Angeles Clippers 104-98 in game six on the road and won their conference semifinal series four games to two, despite 25 points and 11 assists from Chris Paul and 22 points from Blake Griffin.  In the 44 seasons of their three-city existence (Buffalo, San Diego, and Los Angeles), the Clippers have never reached a conference final.  The Thunder will open the Western Conference finals on the road against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.
