NCAA South: Gators Dominate Pitt; Flyers Shock 'Cuse, Reach First Sweet 16 Since '84

Eight games were played on Saturday as the third round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament commenced.  Two of those games were contested in the South Region.

At Orlando, Florida:

Scottie Wilbekin scored 21 points as the top-seeded (both in the region and overall) Florida Gators (34-2) coasted to a 61-45 win over the ninth-seeded Pittsburgh Panthers (26-10) to reach the Sweet 16.

At Buffalo, New York:

Dyshawn Pierre scored 14 points while Jordan Sibert converted a key three-point shot with 47.7 second remaining in regulation as the eleventh-seeded Dayton Flyers (26-10) advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 30 years with a 55-53 upset of third-seeded Syracuse Orangemen (28-6).
