NCAA Midwest: Wolverines Hold Off Pesky Vols; UK De-Thrones Louisville

The semifinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Midwest Regional took place on Friday with both games contested at Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium:

In the opener, Jordan Morgan scored 15 points while Nik Stauskas added 14 as the second-seeded Michigan Wolverines (28-8) fought off the eleventh-seeded Tennessee Volunteers (24-13) 73-71, despite 24 points from the Vols' Jordan McRae.

Aaron Harrison scored 15 points while Julius Randle hit a pair of clutch free throws as the eighth-seeded Kentucky Wildcats (27-10) ousted the defending national champions, the fourth-seeded Louisville Cardinals (32-6) 74-69, despite 23 points from the Cardinals' Russ Smith.

Michigan will take on Kentucky in Sunday Midwest Regional final at Indianapolis for a berth in the final four (2:05 PM Pacific Time, CBS).
