Three games were played on Thursday as the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Tournament commenced at Ogden, Utah.
Troy Huff scored 18 points while Aaron Anderson added 16 as the second-seeded North Dakota Fighting Sioux (16-15) defeated the seventh-seeded Sacramento State Hornets (14-16) 79-76.
Derrick Barden scored 15 points as the #6-seeded Northern Colorado Bears (18-12) knocked off the third-seeded Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (15-17) 62-60. The Bears will face top-seeded Weber State in a Friday semifinal contest.
Kyle Richardson, in the nightcap, scored 19 points and DaShaun Wiggins added 18 as the fifth-seeded Portland State Vikings (17-13) upended the fourth-seeded Montana Grizzlies (17-13) 70-63 to advance to Friday's semifinal contest against North Dakota.
