NCAA Midwest: Shockers Unbeaten No More As Kentucky Upends Wichita State; Vols Too Much For Mercer

Two games were played in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Midwest Region as Round-of-32 play concluded.

At Raleigh, North Carolina:

Josh Richardson scored 26 points while Antonio Barton added 18 and Jarnell Stokes 17 (to go with a career-high-tying 18 rebounds) as the 11th-seeded Tennessee Volunteers (24-12) dominated the 14th-seeded Mercer Bears (27-9) 83-63.

At St. Louis:

Andrew Harrison scored 20 pints while Aaron Harrison added 19 and Julius Randle 13 (to go with his 10 rebounds) as the eighth-seeded Kentucky Wildcats (26-10) held off the top-seeded---and previously undefeated---Wichita State Shockers (35-1) 78-76.  Cleananthony Early scored 31 and Ron Baker added 20 for the Shockers, who still had a chance to pull out another victory, but Fred VanFleet's three-point try at the buzzer clanked off the rim.
