Stanley Cup Playoffs: Flames Finish Off Jets; Jackets, Canucks Take 2-1 Series Leads; Flyers, Knights Grab Round-Robin Wins

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Thursday with five games.

EASTERN CONFERENCE (All games played at Toronto):

SEEDING ROUND-ROBIN:

Scott Laughton scored twice as the Philadelphia Flyers held off the Washington Capitals 3-1.

QUALIFYING ROUND (All series best of five):

Pierre-Luc Dubois completed his hat trick by scoring the game winner at 18:24 as the Columbus Blue Jackets overcame a two-goal deficit to overtake the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in game three of their series.

The Jackets, who lead the series two games to one, can finish off the Leafs with a game-four victory on Friday (5:00 PM Pacific Time, NHL Network)


WESTERN CONFERENCE (All games played at Edmonton):

SEEDING ROUND-ROBIN:

Shea Theodore and Alex Tuch each scored twice (with each tallying once on the power play) as the Vegas Golden Knights outslugged the St. Louis Blues 6-4.

QUALIFYING ROUND (All series best of five):

Game #1:

Brock Boeser (power play), Antoine Russell, and Elias Pettersson (power play) each scored once while Jacob Markstrom stopped 27 shots for his first career playoff shutout as the Vancouver Canucks tamed the Minnesota Wild 3-0 in the third game of their series, which the Canucks now lead two games to one.

The Wild failed to convert on any of their seven power plays.

Vancouver can advance to the Western Conference quarterfinals with a game-four win on Friday (7:45 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).

Game #2:

Dillon Dube, Sam Bennett each scored once while Sean Monahan and Rasmus Andersson each popped in an empty netter late in the third period as the Calgary Flames dominated the Winnipeg Jets 4-0 in game four to finish off their series three games to one.

Cam Talbot saved all 31 shots for the shutout.
