Stanley Cup Playoffs: Panthers Hold Off Islanders To Stay Alive; Habs, Coyotes, Hawks Take 2-1 Series Leads: Lightning, Avalanche Gather Round-Robin Wins

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued with six games on Wednesday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE (All games played at Toronto):

SEEDING ROUND ROBIN:

Tyler Johnson scored the winning goal with 87 seconds remaining in regulation as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2.

QUALIFYING ROUND (All series best of five):

Game #1:

Bryan Boyle scored the winning goal early in the third period as the Florida Panthers staved off elimination by holding off the New York Islanders 3-2 in game three.

The Panthers' Erik Haula and Mike Hoffman each scored once on the power play.

The Islanders, who lead the series two games to one, can still advance to the Eastern Conference quarterfinals by beating the Panthers on Friday in game four (9:00 AM Pacific Time, NBCSN).

Game #2:

Jeff Petry scored the game winner at 5:33 of the third period as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in game three of their series.

The Habs, who lead two games to one, can finish off the Penguins with a game four victory on Friday (1:00 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).

WESTERN CONFERENCE (All games played at Edmonton):

SEEDING ROUND ROBIN:

Cale Makar (power play), Joonas Donskoi, Vladislav Namestnikov , Andre Burakovsky (power play) each scored once while Pavel Francouz saved all 27 shots for the shutout as the Colorado Avalanche dimmed the Dallas Stars 4-0.

QUALIFYING ROUND (All series best of five):

Game #1:

Conor Garland scored what proved to be the game winner in the third period as the Arizona Coyotes scored three times in the third period to stifle the Nashville Predators 4-1 in game three of their series, which they now lead two games to one.

The Coyotes can finish off the Predators with a game-four win on Friday (11:30 AM Pacific Time, NHL Network).

Game #2:

Jonathan Toews scored the winning goal with 76 seconds remaining in regulation as the Chicago Blackhawks took a two-games-to-one series lead following their 4-3 game-three victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Hawks can advance to the Western Conference quarterfinals with a game-four victory on Friday (3:45 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).
