In what was essentially the opening game of the National Basketball Association Playoffs on Saturday, Damian Lillard scored scored 31 points and dished off 10 assists, while C.J. McCallum added 29 points, Jusuf Nurkic (playing with a heavy heart as his grandmother passed away earlier in the day) added 22 (to go with his 21 rebounds), and Carmelo Anthony punched in 21 as the Portland Trail Blazers held off the Memphis Grizzlies 126-122 to advance to the Western Conference quarterfinals.
Ja Morant paced the Grizzlies with 25 points while Jonas Valanciunas added 22 (to go with his 17 rebounds), Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke 20 each.
The Blazers will open their conference quarterfinal series with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday at Bay Lake, Florida.
