Stanley Cup Playoffs: Rangers Top Caps In OT, Win Series, Get Shot At Lightning; Capitals Lose Another Series After Blowing Three-Games-To-One Lead

At New York:

Derek Stepan scored the winning goal at 11:24 of overtime as the New York Rangers defeated the visiting Washington Capitals 2-1 in the seventh and deciding game of their Eastern Conference semifinal series in the lone Wednesday night Stanley Cup Playoff contest as the second round concluded.  Henrik Lundqvist saved 35 of 36 shots for the victory.

The Rangers will next take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference final with the winner advancing to the Stanley Cup Final, with the opening game set for Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

As for the Capitals, this marked the fifth time that they had blown a three-games-to-one lead and lost a best-of-seven playoff series.
