Nikita Kucherov scored the winning goal 2:06 into the second overtime period as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 on the road in the opening game of their conference semifinal series. Ben Bishop stopped 43 of 44 shots in goal for the Lightning.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At Chicago:
Teuvo Taraveinen scored the winning goal as the Chicago Blackhawks recovered from blowing a three-goal lead and defeated the visiting Minnesota Wild 4-3 in the opening contest of their conference semifinal series.
