At Commerce City, Colorado:
Jack Jewsbury scored the winning goal in the third minute of second-half stoppage time on Saturday night as the Portland Timbers defeated the Colorado Rapids 2-1 for their first-ever Major League Soccer victory at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Gaston Fernandez scored the Timbers' other goal in the 38th minute.
Sam Cronin had equalized for the Rapids in the 89th minute, only to see "Captain Jack" score the game-winner at the death.
The Timbers will host the New England Revolution next Saturday night in Portland at 7:30 PM Pacific Time (Timbers' broadcast network via KPDX-TV).
