MLB Playoffs (American League Divisional Playoff Series): A's Take 2-1 Series Win After Victory In Detroit; Ninth-Inning Heroics Keep Rays Alive Against BoSox

Both American League divisional playoff series continued on Monday.

At Detroit:

The Oakland Athletics, powered by home runs from Brandon Moss, Josh Reddick, and Seth Smith, topped the Detroit Tigers 6-3 in their divisional playoff series as the visitors took a two-games-to-one lead.  The Athletics can close out the series with a game-four road win on Tuesday.

At St. Petersburg, Florida:

Jose Lobaton hit a solo home run with two out in the last half of the ninth inning as the Tampa Bay Rays staved off elimination by defeating the visiting Boston Red Sox 4-3 in game four of their divisional playoff series.  The Red Sox, who still lead the series two games to one, can still finish off the Rays in St. Petersburg with a game-four win on Tuesday.
