WARHAWKS GET MEASURE OF PURPLE RAIDERS AGAIN IN NCAA D3 TITLE GAME

At Salem, Virginia:

Quarterback Matt Behrendt threw for 365 yards and four touchdowns on Friday night as the Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks (15-0) extended their winning streak to 32 games with their 43-34 victory over Mount Union (14-1) for their sixth NCAA Division III national football championship in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.  It was the sixth victory for the Warhawks at the Purple Raiders' expense in seven meetings, all in the D3 title game.  It was the final game for Whitewater head coach Lance Leipold who amassed a record of 109-6 in eight years.   He accepted the head coaching job at the University of Buffalo.
