Jean Beliveau, the Hockey Hall of Fame legend who scored 507 goals and starred on ten Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup championships (1956-60, 1965-66, 1968-69, 1971), passed away on Tuesday at age 83.
Mr. Beliveau, after spending parts of two seasons with Les Habitants, joined the Canadiens for good in 1953.
Jean was a captain with the Habs for ten seasons, then moved seamlessly into the front office upon retirement in 1971.
It was that flair for talent, flair, and intelligence that separated Jean and his Canadiens teammates from other NHL teams during the great championship years.
