DUCKS BLAST ZONA TO WIN PAC-12 TITLE AND LIKELY COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF BERTH

At Santa Clara, California:

Quarterback Marcus Mariota completed 25 of 38 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns and ran for three additional scores as the Oregon Ducks (#2 in the College Football Playoff rankings and #3 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 12-1 overall) manhandled the Arizona Wildcats (#7 in CFB, #8 both in the AP and Coaches polls; 10-3) 51-13 in the Pac-12 Conference Championship Game that was contested on Friday night.

The victory, which avenged their only defeat of the regular season, likely placed the Ducks in the semifinal round of the inaugural College Football Playoff.
