At San Francisco:
Bishop Sankey ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns to tie his school's career TD record as the Washington Huskies (9-4) topped the BYU Cougars (8-5) 31-16 in Friday's Fight Hunger Bowl. This capped off the Huskies' winningest season since going 11-1 and winning the Rose Bowl in 2000. Quarterbacks coach Marques Tuiasosopo, who quarterbacked the Huskies in that Rose Bowl victory over Purdue, served as interim head coach for his alma mater in the wake of the departure of Steve Sarkisian for Southern California. Chris Peterson, who had an outstanding record as Boise State's head coach, will be taking over as head man at Washington next season.
