Redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston won the Heisman Trophy as most outstanding college football player on Saturday in New York City. This marked the second straight year that a freshman won the Heisman (after Johnny Manziel last year). Mr. Winston becomes the third Seminole (after Charlie Ward in 1993 and Chris Weinke in 2000) to win the prize.
Jameis' Florida State squad will face Auburn in next month's final BCS National Championship Game at Pasadena, California.
