NCAA West: Zags Survive Scare From Jags; Harvard Stuns Lobos; Shockers Manhandle Pitt; Harvard Stuns Lobos;

Four games were played in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's West Regional, all played at Salt Lake City, Utah:

In the opening contest at Engery Solutions Arena, Malcolm Armstead scored 22 points while Cleanthony Early came off the bench to add 21 as the ninth-seeded Wichita State Shockers (27-8) defeated the eighth-seeded Pittsburgh Panthers (24-9) 73-55.

In the second contest, Kelly Olynyk scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (32-2) suvived a major scare from the sixteenth-seeded Southern Jaguars (23-10) 64-58.  Derick Beltran scored 20 points to pace the game Jaguars.

Mark Lyons scored 23 points as sixth-seeded Arizona (26-7) defeated eleventh-seeded Belmont (26-7) 81-64, despite 22 points from the Bruins' Kerron Johnson.

In the Thursday finale, Wesley Sauders scored 18 points as fourteenth-seeded Harvard (20-9) shocked third-seeded New Mexico (29-6) 68-62.  In this, their third NCAA Tourney appearance, this was the first game the Crimson have ever won.
