NCAA West: Shockers Hold Off Buckeyes; First Final Four For WSU Since '65

At Los Angeles:

Malcolm Armstead scored 14 points as the #9 Wichita State Shockers (30-8) built up a 20-point second-half lead before holding off the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes (29-8) 70-66 to win the final of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's West Regional.  The Shockers become the first team from the Missouri Valley Conference to reach the Final Four since 1979 (Indiana State, with Larry Bird) and will appear in their first Final Four since 1965.  WSU will face the winner of Sunday's Louisville-Duke game next Saturday in Atlanta.
